Rosenberg Worley and Blavinge join forces on offshore wind

news-details

Rosenberg Worley and Blåvinge - a partnership between Fred. Olsen Seawind, Hafslund Eco and Ørsted - enter into an exclusive collaboration to develop floating offshore wind. The collaboration shows the great industrial potential that offshore wind represents for the Norwegian supplier industry.

The agreement includes an exclusive collaboration where Blåvinge and Rosenberg will together develop plans for how large-scale floating offshore wind can be developed in Norway with the help of Norwegian suppliers.

If Blåvinge receives a license to develop floating offshore wind on Utsira Nord, major investments will be made, including in connection with the construction of foundations for floating offshore wind farms. This will provide a significant number of man-years in both the development and construction phases.

Blåvinge aims to develop both bottom-fixed and floating offshore wind, and at the same time contribute to the development of competitive Norwegian supply chains that can deliver large-scale development of offshore wind in Norway. The Norwegian supplier industry is uniquely positioned to utilize its offshore expertise to develop new solutions and create value in the offshore wind industry - not only in Norway, but internationally.

Few companies better represent the restructuring that the Norwegian supplier industry underwent at the beginning of the oil age than Rosenberg. At the time, Rosenberg was transformed from a shipyard into a major supplier of projects to the oil and gas industry. Through the collaboration with Blåvinge, Rosenberg can now become a key supplier to the renewable industry.
